Enormous power, incredible size, and lots of red trim show up in the new 2024 BMW XM Label Red. This new XM is the most powerful M-badged vehicle ever made.
When the original version of the BMW XM arrived, it broke the mold. This is only the second BMW vehicle designed and produced entirely by the M Division team. This new high-performance model packs a serious punch, giving you some amazing numbers and the drive you’ll want to experience when you hit the road.
A Big, Bad, Hybrid Bimmer
If the 644 horsepower offered in the regular BMW XM isn’t enough for you, there’s a special model for you. This new Label Red version includes an immense plug-in hybrid powertrain to give this amazing luxury SUV the power and performance desired. When you want to drive fast but you need a strong SUV, this could be the answer for you. Of course, this special model of the XM doesn’t come cheap, which means you might be the only person in your neighborhood with this sinister-looking high-performance SUV. Let’s dig in and see what’s found in this amazing BMW.
More power for more fun
The 2024 BMW XM Label Red derives power from a high-tuned 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor for the PHEV system. This package of power sends 738 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque through an incredible 8-speed automatic transmission. You’ll have standard AWD, but it has a rear bias to give you a sporty feeling. The Label Red model can hit 60 mph in only 3.7 seconds, which is incredibly fast, especially for an SUV. The top speed for this BMW SUV is electronically limited to 155 mph, which is raised to 175 mph when the optional M Driver’s package is included in this SUV.
Does the Label Red have the chops to handle this power?
The power and speed coming from the XM is harnessed by a package of performance features that make it easy to keep this SUV on the right track. You’ll find standard adaptive dampers, active anti-roll bars, an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential, and M compound brakes. These brakes have six-piston front calipers to bring the right stopping power to this SUV. The XM Label Red rides on a set of 23-inch wheels, but you can change to 22-inch wheels if you think the 23s are too big.
Can you drive using only electric power?
If you really want to drive on electric-only power, you can do so, but it will only last 30 miles. After that, you won’t have any electric power for your ride. Of course, if you only need to go down the street or run a few errands, this electric range might save some of the fuel in the tank for you. Most buyers reaching to the heights of this incredible machine won’t use the EV power but allow the PHEV to work as a complete unit.
Red everywhere you look
Although the 2024 BMW XM Label Red isn’t awash in red of all shades, the red trimming is hard to ignore. This ruby color shows up in the massive kidney grille, along the exterior around the wheels, on a stripe stretching along the sides, and you can have side windows finished in Toronto Red if you like.
Going inside, you’ll see more red details with this color offered on the HVAC vents, stitched surfaces in the cabin, and on the steering column. BMW gives this amazing SUV a curved glass panel that includes the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen that operates the iDrive 8.5 infotainment software.
As you look around the cabin area, you’ll find a head-up display, a three-dimensional headliner, and several M-specific controls. There’s an optional 1,475-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround-sound system to give you the most enjoyable musical sounds coming out of the speakers. You’ll also find a slew of impressive driver assist systems, including the BMW semi-autonomous drive model that allows you to enjoy hands-free driving at speeds up to 85 mph.
When will we see this new XM
The 2024 BWM XM Label Red should enter production at the Spartanburg, SC plant in August, allowing this high-end luxury SUV to be part of the 2024 model year. We’re unsure of the pricing, but some think this ultra-powerful luxury SUV could fetch a starting price of nearly $186,000.
