Five Cars That You Won’t See Selling New in 2023

Used Cars line up

Car models are coming and going all the time. Whether it’s because they’re being replaced by new models, are part of limited production, or simply suffer from a lack of sales and popularity, many cars are being discontinued in 2022. This may be your last chance to see some of the brand-new models sold at dealerships.

Here are five cars that you’ll only see as used cars for sale after 2022.

Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat

Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat

The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat was already planned to be released in a limited number because of post-COVID production problems and new emissions regulations. Despite their initial intentions to only create 2,000 units over six months, Dodge announced their plan to make more of the model to appease customer demands.

Despite this change of heart, it’s confirmed that no more Dodge Durango SRT Hellcats will be made and sold new after this year.

Kia Cadenza

Kia Cadenza

The Kia Cadenza was one of many easily-forgettable models that suffered from a lack of sales more than any specific issues. Because sales for the Cadenza have totaled barely 1,000 multiple years, it was inevitable it would soon be removed from Kia’s lineup.

However, the Cadenza wasn’t simply removed. The Kia Cadenza has now been given a new platform and marketplace outside the US. It’s sold under the K8 name, as well.

Lotus Evora GT

Lotus Evora GT

A combination of a move toward all-electric vehicle production and other models being more popular led to the downfall of the Lotus Evora GT. In light of it being discontinued as of 2022, it was updated with new colors and features as one last hurrah.

Now it will be replaced by the Emira and the company’s new electric vehicles in production.Ford EcoSport

Ford EcoSport

The Ford EcoSport wasn’t exactly a big draw in terms of sales from the time it was first sold in 2018. Though it could still be considered generally successful, sales in the last two years have been steadily dropping for EcoSport.

While it will still be available for the European market, the Ford EcoSport is no longer manufactured and sold in the US.

BMW i3

BMW i3

The BMW i3 had a limited range as an electric crossover vehicle and outdated interior features that needed to be updated. Rather than releasing an updated version of the model, BMW iX was created as an improvement on the i3.

As a result, the i3 was discontinued this year. The iX can easily replace it with a much-improved interior design and an electric mile range nearly double the i3.

All five of these vehicles are meeting their end for various reasons. They can still be found as used cars for sale somewhere, but after this year, they won’t be manufactured and sold as new any longer.

For any die-hard fans of these vehicles, now is the time to try to find them before the new models are gone forever.
