A Celebrity-Owned Demon Was Sold

The Dodge team wasn’t as finicky about what owners did with the Challenger SRT Hellcat Demon models that were sold as Ford was with the GT.

With all of the Demon models sold and no more on the way, the value of these cars has increased. Of course, if one were owned by a celebrity and was sold at an auction, it would likely bring about a hefty sum of money. One such model was recently auctioned at the Mecum Auctions’ Dallas sale which took place in October to be a Demon that was celebrity-owned.

The Owner Knows Cars

The Demon that was sold was owned by racing legend Michael Andretti. As one of the most admired racers from a family of racing legends, Michael certainly knows his cars and likely has an extensive collection of cars that he loves to show off and enjoy. While we are unsure why he chose to auction the Challenger Demon he owned, it is an interesting car, to say the least. This is a car that likely never saw the celebrity owner behind the wheel of it because it’s not a car that has turned the odometer much at all.

An Interesting Discover in this Demon

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Demon that was owned by Michael Andretti was auctioned off with the wrappings still attached. Because it is number 47 out of the first 50, which were reserved as examples that were built for VIPs and executives, the car was never put through the dealer prep process. In fact, the odometer only shows 13 miles on it, which was likely the number that was on it when Andretti took delivery of the car from the factory. This makes it a car that was owned by a celebrity but likely was never driven by him.

Details of the Demon

The Challenger Demon is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine that produces up to 840 horsepower and 770 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the most powerful muscle car ever built for the general public and it has the ability to race to the end of a quarter-mile in only 9.65 seconds at a speed of 140 mph. The run to sixty mph only takes 2.3 seconds to give you one the fastest speeds you can find on the road when you’re ready to get up to speed in a hurry.

More Items for the Demon

The Demon that was owned by Andretti and auctioned off was sold not just as the car, but also with the Demon crate. This crate includes front-runner drag wheels, a performance air filter, a passenger mirror block-off plate, a replacement switch module with a high-octane button, and a performance ECU. There are also Demon-branded tools in the crate to give the new owner items that can be kept with the car to have a fantastic package of items that all work together and belong with each other for the new owner to enjoy.
