New Visual Add Options for YouTube and Google Images

Google has announced two visual ad options for YouTube and a new shopping ad option for Google Images, opening up opportunities to connect directly with customers. As we get fully immersed in the holiday shopping season, you may want to check out these new features to boost your brand.

Shopping ads on YouTube

Google is adding Shopping ads to YouTube, which allows brands to advertise their services and products in the YouTube home feed and search results. This can give your Dealership more options to help steer customers your way. For example, Puma is a debut advertiser for the new Shopping ad product, and if a user searches for something Puma related a Shopping Ad could show suggested products at the top of the page before video results. Ads can also appear as a carousel between the videos on the homepage. According to Google “Nearly two-thirds of shoppers say online video has given them ideas and inspiration for their purchase. And more than 90% of these folks say they’ve discovered new products and brands via YouTube.”The Shopping Ads option allows businesses or brands to target consumers based on their interests and among videos related to their products.

Sitelink Extensions

Google is also adding site link extensions for TrueView for action ads on YouTube, which is an option to add more landing pages to your ads, allowing you to provide a range of link options. Google claims that adding site links to ads shows a 23% increase in conversions.YouTube has also said its video ads will now be more interactive, offering users information like store location, interest forms, and additional calls-to-action.

Google Images Showcase Shopping ads

Google is also adding Showcase Shopping ads to Google Images where users will be able to search a larger selection of a company’s products. Google explains: “When people search for broader terms like “holiday party dresses”, they’ll see Showcase Shopping ads that group related products together, displaying a diverse range of offerings. They’re great for attracting new customers; on average, we see that about 85 percent of traffic from Showcase Shopping ads to retailer websites come from new visitors.”So take advantage of the new ads that aim to appeal to users with more visual imagery, and keep up with those web users who are fast expanding their product search options.
