The 2022 Hyundai Elantra: Upping the Mid-Size Sedan Game

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra_ Upping the Mid-Size Sedan Game

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is here to let you know that the sedan is back, and with its return comes an edge. The mid-size sedan will always have its place in the American garage. But with the rise of various crossovers, SUVs, and the like, the sedan’s reign of supremacy might be a thing of the past.

That is unless Hyundai has anything to say about it. And their push towards a sedan renaissance of sorts begins with the 2022 Hyundai Elantra.

But with three iterations to choose from, which Elantra model should you go with? We’re here to make this decision simpler. So, here’s a brief breakdown of the 2022 line of Hyundai Elantras, for your sedan-seeking pleasure.

2022 Hyundai Elantra

With Hyundai’s Kona gaining steam, the Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback has fallen from favor. But there are still three great options for you to choose from in the 2022 versions. Each of which provide an excellent value for sedan shoppers of all budgets.

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra trim packages

2022 Hyundai Elantra SE | $19,850

The base model Elantra is far from entry-level with its amenities. The 2.0L 4-cylinder engine is as efficient as is its closest mid-size rival and it doesn’t care who knows. With 33 MPGs in the city, and an excellent 43 MPGs on the freeway, this Elantra affects your wallet in a good way. That is to say: When you’re at the pump, it leaves your wallet in your hip pocket.

2022 Hyundai Elantra SEL | $21,100

For a modest MSRP increase, you get some nice upgrades in the Elantra SEL. Fueled by the same 2.0L 4-cylinder engine as the SE, you get a bit of a drop in the gas mileage—31/41 to be exact. With the SEL you get the Bluelink Connected Car System, and a Proximity Key with a push-button start.  Another nice perk is the 16-inch alloy wheels that complement this baby’s sleek look.

2022 Hyundai Elantra Limited | $25,600

With a price hike of over $6K, the Elantra Limited promises perks bordering on luxury. And that promise is immediately evident. Included is a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation, big enough for the fattest of fingers. You also get leather-trimmed seats, and the nifty Dynamic Voice Recognition system. The best of the bevy of perks within the Elantra Limited, is the Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Reverse (PCA-R). It’s a mouthful but provides piece of mind as it makes your commute that much safer.

Conclusion

With the 2202 Hyundai Elantra, no matter what, you’re getting top-notch gas mileage. And with each tier increase, the perks are prevalent. For a top-of-the-line trim, the Limited is an excellent choice, and it falls well below the $30k threshold.
