The only way many of us are ever going to be able to afford a car that costs in the millions of dollars is to actually win the lottery jackpot. It may be time to buy up those tickets and see what the number result in because there is a car that’s hit the auction site that will become the most expensive Ferrari to ever be sold. This car is one that you can only dream of and will certainly be an addition to a great collection for some lucky person who is already wealthy, but if your numbers hit soon, it could be yours.
While the expectation is that this Ferrari will be put to the retired pony pasture of a car collector’s museum, it has had an amazing history and has been one of the most admired cars in history, hence the high price that’s being asked. The car is in perfect condition with the looks and the feel that make it seriously admirable. The car is a Ferrari 250 GTO that is only one of 39 GTOs built which makes it a seriously rare car as well, but that’s not all this car has going for it.
The chassis number is #3387GT which is a car that has raced in many races over its long history. This car came in second at the 1962 Sebring 12 Hours, finished sixth at the 24 Hours of Le Mans a couple years later and has been in 27 races and finished on the podium seventeen times. This is certainly a car that has had its success over the long stretch of time that it’s been around and several great names have enjoyed the drive of this car on the track to find their way to victory.
As for the performance, the 250 GTO has a massive V12 engine under the hood and can still run from zero to sixty mph in less than six seconds while enjoying a top speed of 170 mph. With a classic look of blue with a white racing stripe this high performance machine has been a model that has a place in history and the look that will make you want to drive it as often as possible. It may be time for this pony to be put to pasture and retire with dignity as it enjoys several more years in a great museum collection.
Currently the price for this car is around $56.4 million. This would make it the most expensive Ferrari ever sold and there has already been at least one offer for this price. Previously there was a 250 GTO that was sold for $38 million and in 2013 one sold for $52 million, this car would beat both of those if sold for this price. A car with this racing history certainly seems like it would be worth that price, especially considering the price that other models of the same ilk have received already. Now all you have to do is win that lottery jackpot.
