For years the only reason to buy a Land Rover product was to have the very top of the line SUV for heading off road on some great adventures. That statement still holds true today, but there are a variety of reasons to buy the Land Rover models today. The Range Rover Evoque shows us some great differences between the Land Rovers of old and now. The Evoque shows up with excellent styling that is in keeping with other vehicles on the market along with the height of SUV engineering and capability to be the luxury SUV for those who can and want the top of the line function and capability in a beautifully designed vehicle.
The Evoque takes on competitors such as the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 and shows itself to be more capable than either of these models. The Evoque is equipped with an amazing suspension to handle serious off road duties and the best all-wheel drive system on the market to be a true off road vehicle. The Evoque offers a three-door model to make the SUV feel like the coupe of SUV’s on the road and gives a great feeling of active driving.
The Evoque offers a lightweight body and an exceptional engine to power the five trims of this SUV which shows how Land Rover has entered the new century in style. The 2015 model of the Evoque adds Reverse Traffic Detection along with Perpendicular Parking Assist. The Pure Plus trim can be equipped with Smart Key, HDD navigation with off road navigation maps and intuitive voice control. These additions help drivers stay safe on and off the road and allow some of the best safety features available to ensure all inside can feel secure and enjoy the Evoque.
The Range Rover Evoque offers a driving feeling that is best described as polished. On the road this SUV offers a ride that is smooth, comfortable and civilized. The suspension takes care of not only the off road needs, but is enjoyable as a daily commuter with a very nice ride that handles every road problem with simple precision. The handling is highly responsive and quick; acting upon the lightest touch to make sure the Evoque is more than capable of taking on any road challenges such as a canyon run or off road needs including crawling around treacherous trails. The quiet cabin included is a bonus on the Evoque, making it easy to enjoy some musical selections on any drive.
As with many of the Land Rover models, the Evoque only offers one engine to power the SUV. This engine is a high performing 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that is direct-injected to help improve the power. The power under the hood comes in at 240 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The powertrain adds the AWD as full-time and standard on all trims while offering a fuel mileage of 21 city/30 hwy mpg for owners to enjoy.
The interior of the Evoque is a simple and functional cabin full of controls that are easy to find and understand along with seating that is highly supportive and covered in soft and supple materials. The rear seat is a little snug for three across seating, but is great for only two and the two door version makes accessing this area a bit of challenge. The cargo space is adequate with the seat up and generous when it is folded down, making this a great vehicle to take out anywhere in comfort and style.
On the outside, the Evoque is one of the most stylish vehicles in the Land Rover lineup. The front shows off the unique Land Rover grill and a pair of narrow swept back headlights that give the eye a place to go when looking at this SUV. With great curves and lines across the SUV the Evoque is not the same box on wheels other Land Rover models are, but a statement in style and sophistication for all to marvel at and fully appreciate. The wheels, which finish off the exterior look, are large and strong with a bold multi-mag spoked pattern, giving a beastly look to this beauty.
The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque offers a generous amount of standard features including the all-wheel drive system called Active Driveline, keyless entry, keyless starting, power adjustable leather seats, dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, 19-inch alloy wheels, an 11-speaker audio system with an eight-inch touch screen, the Terrain Response System with different modes for sand, mud and snow, stability control, traction control, roll-stability control, Trailer Stability Assist and six airbags. With all these features aboard, the base model of the Evoque is an amazing choice for a great SUV.
Even though the base model packed, the Evoque offers some great optional features to choose from as well. The Pure Plus, Pure Premium and Dynamic all come in either three or five door models with the base (Pure) and top of the line Prestige models only offered with the five doors. The Pure Premium trim adds a five-camera surround view system, a navigation system, adaptive xenon headlights and a 17-speaker audio system. The Dynamic and Prestige trims offer special interior and exterior styling groups. Other features to add include the Adaptive Cruise Control to assist with driving on highways.
Purchasing a Land Rover Range Rover Evoque starts out at the Pure trim at just over $42,000. The Pure Plus brings that up to $45,000 with the Premium showing up just below $50,000. These prices are actually very reasonable considering the company the Evoque keeps in the lineup of great luxury SUVs. The Prestige takes the price up to $56,000 with the Dynamic being the sport version and topping the scales at just over $57,000. The three-door models show up with a $46,000 price for the Pure Plus, $50,500 for the Pure Premium and a little over $58,000 for the Dynamic. For any model, add the Adaptive Cruise Control will add $1,250 to the price.
