The 2025 Toyota Corolla the Little Sedan That Could

It you’re looking for a small sedan or hatchback that offers impressive fuel efficiency and comes with a comprehensive list of standard equipment, you should be looking at the Toyota Corolla. The latest model even has a new FX trim level with blacked out trim and badging to give it a sporty look.

How Much Power Does It Have?

The standard powertrain for the Toyota Corolla, whether you have the sedan or the hatchback version is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine with 169 horsepower. It uses a continuously variable automatic transmission to send power to the front wheels.
While this engine is extremely efficient, you can take things a step further if you choose the sedan. It’s offered with a hybrid powertrain made up of a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gas engine and electric motors that combine to generate 138 horsepower.

Fuel Efficient AND Safe? You Got it

All the Corolla models come loaded with advanced driver aids. You’ll have plenty of confidence every time you take the wheel with systems such as forward collision warning, automatic braking, and lane-keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control helps you maintain a set distance from the vehicle in front of you, making highway driving less stressful,
If you want a blind-spot monitor to alert you when there is someone in your blind spot, you can get it with the XSE trim.

An Edgier Corolla: Check out the FX

While any of the Corolla trims have a sporty look, you can take things in a bolder, edgier direction with the new FX trim. It blacks out many of the exterior elements including the 18-inch wheels and adds a black spoiler and black roof. Inside, you’ll find unique cloth upholstery and black badging.
It channels the Corolla FX16 from the 80s with shorter springs to lower it and retunes the power steering to give it a sportier feel behind the wheel.

Modern Tech Features

You’ll have access to all the tech you need to stay connected and entertained when you hit the road in the Toyota Corolla. The entry-level trims have an 8-inch touchscreen that comes loaded with a wireless version of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but if you like a larger screen, you can get a 10.5-inch one in the XSE and the FX Special Edition. The XSE also makes charging your phone easier with its wireless charging pad.

Creature Comforts for the Road

The Corolla fits into the compact car segment, but it doesn’t feel compact in the cabin. You’ll have plenty of room to stretch your legs whether you’re sitting in the front or back, and with features such as automatic climate control, everyone in the car can stay comfortable no matter what the temps are like outside.
For some extra creature comforts, check out the XSE. It has heated front seats. But if your after something sporty, the SE has a leather-trimmed steering wheel and added bolstering for the front seats to keep you in place when you put it in sport driving mode and test out its cornering abilities.
