The attraction of Brian O’Conner came to life on the big screen when Paul Walker stepped into the role. Let’s look at some of the incredible cars driven by this iconic character.
Unfortunately for the Walker family and fans alike, Paul died in a car accident and is no longer with us to show off his infectious smile. Thankfully, before he perished, Paul drove some of the coolest cars during his time in the Fast and Furious movies. The Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R with Walker’s specific changes is heading to auction this summer. Here are seven other cool cars he drove during his time on the big screen.
Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R
More than one of these Skylines appeared in these movies with Brian behind the wheel. The one going up for auction later this year is the blue version driven in the fourth installment of this movie series. Another model he drove wore silver paint with blue graphics and appeared in 2 Fast 2 Furious with a C-west body kit. This model was eventually impounded during the film when the character got arrested.
Toyota Supra
Another car that appeared often is the Toyota Supra. A beaten-up version was towed to Dominic’s house as the “10-second car” that Brian owed him. The Supra was easily one of the most incredible cars in the films, and the orange-painted model was eventually sold at auction for $550,000. The legendary 2JZ-GTE engine sits under the hood of this amazing Supra, giving us one of the most powerful and highly regarded engines in the racing world. This car was popular with tuners because of its amazing tuning potential.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Brian drove one of the greatest Porsche cars of all time. The 911 GT3 RS doesn’t require much tuning or changes to be a dominant car that racers could confidently drive to the checkered flag. This car wore a Baby Blue paint in Fast Five and was an amazing car. Strangely, the car in the movie was actually a 996 Carrera 2 that wore the GT3 RS kit and decals because the actual car is extremely rare, with only 140 examples ever made by Porsche.
Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
This highly tuned and show-stopping Eclipse was one of the most incredible cars driven by the Brian character. This was the very first car Brian used to race Dominic and earn his respect. Unfortunately, during the movie, the car burst into flames when shot. This car has been a real-world tuner’s delight for many years. The Eclipse GSX is a two-door, FWD Lancer Evo using the same 4G63 engine from the iconic car. This makes the Eclipse one of the coolest cars in these amazing movies.
Ford Escort RS1600
We saw Brian behind the wheel of a blue Ford Escort RS1600 in Fast 6. This car was a rally monster in the 1970s when Ford used it to take on some of the most successful rally names in the world. This car features a 2.0-liter Cosworth BDA engine to drive 240 horsepower to the rear wheels for some serious speed out of this lightweight car. This Ford won the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally, and it is easily one of the most attractive classic cars from the movies.
Nissan Skyline GT-R KPGC10
This Skyline is called Hakosuka, and it truly only had a cameo appearance in Fast Five. It was the car that Brian and Mia drove in Brazil during the early scenes of the movie, but it is easily one of the most incredible cars driven by Brian. This JDM legend was the car to beat in the 1970s during Japanese tour car races. From 1968 to 1972, it won 50 races with 49 victories in a row. We don’t see these cars in the United States very often, but it showed up in the Fast and Furious movies.
Ford SVT Lightning
How can we forget the truck Brian drove to deliver car parts to various garages around town. This truck appeared in the first movie, and it was a Ford SVT Lightning which was powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine made to deliver 360 horsepower. The truck carried parts during Brian’s undercover duties to learn more about the street racers and find out which crew was hijacking trucks.
These seven incredible cars appeared in the Fast and Furious movies with Paul Walker behind the wheel at one time or another. Of course, the car of choice was the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R.
