It won’t be long before your local Chevrolet dealer starts taking orders for the new 2024 Chevrolet Trax. This upcoming model is a reimagined version of this popular crossover. Chevy announced a whole host of new technologies, a larger size, and an excellent starting price.
Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet, believes that the new Trax is “everything you need and nothing you don’t: more space, more features, and more style.” He goes on to claim that the Trax “will surprise and delight customers with its value and [that it] plays a critical role as the gateway into the Chevy brand.”
What We Know So Far
While the sales team at your favorite Chevrolet dealer won’t know every detail about this updated SUV, there’s enough information about there to keep shoppers excited.
For starters, the new Trax will come in five distinct trims: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. The entire lineup gets to show off some upgraded gear:
- Standard eight-inch or available 11-inch infotainment screen
- Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
- Four-wheel disc brakes
- Chevy Safety Assist (six advanced driver-assist systems)
- Active noise cancellation
- 17-inch, 18-inch, or 19-inch wheels
Most trims will also feature push-button start, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and more.
A Fresh Design
Stop by your local Chevrolet dealership, and you’ll quickly notice that the new Chevy Trax has a six-inch longer wheelbase, 11-inch longer overall length, and two-inch greater width. That means 12% more cargo capacity, along with greater comfort for rear-seat passengers.
The 2024 Trax boasts lustrous horizontal lines, upgraded headlamps with LED lighting elements, and a sleek side profile. The updated look compliments the Trax’s 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-three engine (137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque)meant to give this SUV a lightweight feel with plenty of power.
Inside, Chevy lowered the instrument panel to provide greater outward visibility. Drivers will love having an infotainment screen that is angled toward the driver. The shifter is located in a more ergonomic position. Chevy also added, for the first time, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto along with a Wi-Fi hotspot.
More Safety from the New Trax
The 2024 Trax steps it up when it comes to safety with the standard Chevy Safety Assist:
- Automatic emergency braking
- Front pedestrian braking
- Lane keep assist with lane departure warning
- Forward collision alert
- IntelliBeam automatic high-beams
- Following distance indicator
- A rear vision camera
Higher-level trims can be loaded with Adaptive cruise control, lane change alert with side blind zone alerts, rear-cross traffic alert, and rear parking assist.
Absolute Affordability
The Trax’s low price will help this SUV stand out even more at Chevrolet dealership locations across the country. Here is what you can expect for each trim’s MSRP:
- LS: $21,495
- 1RS: $23, 195
- LT: $23, 395
- 2RS: $24,995
- ACTIV: $24, 995
