We only recently received a look at the new 2020 Hyundai Sonata midsize sedan. This new model of the sedan that we’ve admired and loved for several years looks more radical and sporty than its predecessors with a fastback look and aggressive front end. This Sonata makes you feel as if Hyundai is trying to tell us they plan to do something more with this car, but they aren’t quite ready to tell us what that’s going to be. If we allow our imagination to run wild, then it’s possible the Sonata could be something more very soon.
Will the Sonata be an N Performance Model?
The most recent developments of Hyundai have given us the performance models that are created from the base models that we already know and love. These models are part of the “N” sub-brand from Hyundai which is only made to offer us more of what we want. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise to think about the new Sonata becoming an N-car because of the incredible new look and the excellent new style that we see in this impressive car that can be ideal for you to have a great drive.
The Leadership is in Place at Hyundai
Hyundai now has none other than Albert Biermann on its staff, which is the same man responsible for the M-division of BMW. If you look at the BMW lineup, you notice there’s an M-performance model that’s been added or developed for nearly every regular model. The same could hold true for Hyundai and it seems that this the direction the brand is heading. The naming being used for Hyundai will be called N-brand and it will essentially be the same structure as what we’ve already seen at BMW.
A Rendering of the Sonata N has been Revealed
A recent rendering of what the Sonata could look like with the N performance features that could be offered for this brand to be added to the mix. This rendering shows a front bumper with larger intakes, vents in the hood that have been added, a wing vent at the trailing edge of the front wheel well, and bigger wheels. The car in the rendering is lower than the standard Sonata and colored accents have been added to make sure this car looks even sportier than the standard model.
More Power for the Performance Desired
What we certainly expect, if the Sonata N arrives at all, is an upgraded in the power offered. We already see this with the Hyundai Veloster N that’s on the market, but the Sonata could reach up to give us as much as 300 horsepower for the incredible drive you want to experience. Added improvements to the braking, steering, suspension, and chassis should also be added to the mix in order to make sure we can have more fun when we take this car out for a drive. At least, that’s what we want to see if the Sonata receives the N treatments.
The Start of Something Amazing at Hyundai
The development of the Hyundai N sub-brand has grown and improved over the last couple of years. Even though the 2020 Sonata has only recently been viewed, it’s possible that a performance version would be offered in the near future to give us the exciting drive we want from this brand. Let’s hope that the Hyundai team, with the leadership of Albert Biermann, will make it possible for the Sonata to receive the performance features that we want to enjoy when we take a drive.
