Showing some images and invoking our senses to a point of anticipation without actually giving us any details has become a popular way to draw attention to a vehicle. Doing this has become popular in videos that have become called “Teaser Videos” and nearly every automaker has found a way to make use of this advertising device to offer us the look at what we can expect in the future while giving us as few details as possible. So far, this has been an effective tool for keeping us interested in what is yet to come.
The team at Hyundai is not immune to offering us teaser videos and they have done this with the new Veloster that will enter its next generation in the 2019 model year while being shown off on February 20th of this year. This new model of the hatchback is hotly anticipated to become the next sporty model for the drive we want and will offer us the next step in what Hyundai plans to deliver to the market to be what we want on the roads, and the teaser video linked below gives you a quick look at this new model.
What’s Expected from the new Veloster?
This new version of the Veloster will share a platform with the Elantra, which should make it a bit smaller and offer the agility that we want in a small performance hatchback model. We don’t know for sure what engines will make their way to this car, but the newest 1.6-liter turbocharged engine is one that we can expect to see and the new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder model could be the one used to give this car the ‘N’ performance of the sub-brand from Hyundai that we will want when looking for a bit more performance on the road.
The asymmetrical styling and shape are evident in the video and show us this car will look extremely similar to what we’ve had in the past. There will be a few styling cues that offer us a look we normally see for the drive. This car has a large single frame grill and the center dual exhaust system we want to have when we drive along with a rear diffuser that offers the added performance drive that we want to have when this car heads out on the road.
Even though the original expectation was that the new Veloster would make its way to the Detroit Auto Show this month, it has been pushed back to offer a debut during the Winter Olympics which will take place in Korea. This could be the right place for the model from this brand to show up and give us a great look at a vehicle that will be fun and active on the road when we want to drive in the future. We can look forward to the Olympic Games for more than the athletes on the snow, now we can look forward to this athlete on the road as well.
