When your job requires you to move mountains, build bridges and erect skyscrapers you need a truck that’s as powerful as you are. Ram has built the 2500 series of their heavy duty truck lineup to give you the power and performance you want to enjoy on and off the road. These big and beastly trucks require you to have a brute of a truck to get the job done and Ram feels the 2500 is the perfect truck for the jobs you have to get done so that you can have the capability you need no matter the challenge.
When you choose the Ram 2500 you start at a powerful engine in the form of the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that brings you the power you want. Of course if you need more oomph the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 adds even more capability by upgrading the towing capacity to a full 16,320 pounds. Move up to the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 and you have the most power in the lineup at a full 17,980 which is what you need when you’re seriously changing the landscape of the world around you and have to get the job done.
This class of truck isn’t just for the impressive power and workload you can do on the road or at the jobsite, but also great as the truck you want to pull a fifth wheel trailer with livestock or your vacation home behind you. This gives you some idea of the power of this massive beast and the benefit of the Cargo View Camera, the Tow/Haul mode and the Auto Level Rear Air Suspension will make easy work of what you have to get done in order to pull your trailers behind you. Let’s take a look at three of the trim levels of this brute that you can choose.
Big Horn & Lone Star – If you have a job that requires you to load up for the day and not expect to return until the job is done, this is a great trim level to choose. This level offers you the RamBox Cargo Management System, the Uconnect 8.4-inch screen with Sirius XM Satellite Radio, a ten-way power driver’s seat, room for up to six people giving you a work crew, the ParkView Rear Back Up Camera and much more. This is a great choice when you don’t know what your day will challenge you with.
SLT – With a little less on it than the Big Horn, this trim is an excellent step up from the Tradesman and gives you the RamBox Cargo Management System which helps you secure all your stuff, a 40/20/40 split folding bench in the front and room for three across the back, the SiriusXM Satellite Radio, chrome front and rear bumpers and the ability to get the job done. You’ll spend a little less on this model and you’ll still have the impressive power you want and some of the benefits of higher trims.
Tradesman – The Tradesman is the base model of the 2500, but that doesn’t make it a truck you won’t want. This brute can get the job done and make it easy for you to enjoy the comfort of the ride. This is the least expensive option but it still offers you a 3.5-inch driver information display, vinyl seats that are easy to clean, room for six people, a storage compartment in the floor and the ability to upgrade this trim to whatever you want. The Tradesman give you a tough and capable work truck to enjoy on the job or on the road.
