The engine for the CLS 400 and CLS 550 both use a nine-speed automatic transmission to give you the smooth shifting you want and help provide you with the shift points you want to enjoy. The AMG S enjoys the benefit of a seven-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission that gives this version the shift movements that help make a top speed of 186 mph.
