When it comes to luxury there is one name that has been around longer than any other; Cadillac. This long standing brand has had its ups and downs and is certain in the midst of a great upturn to give you a menu of vehicles that are seriously special. The fact that Cadillac has been around so long doesn’t meant newcomers can’t challenge the brand and what it’s stood for. The newest luxury brand to the market is Genesis which is the new luxury brand from Hyundai with two new sedans that will get this brand off the ground as it starts to gain a foothold.
With these two brands in mind it could be fun to take a look at the flagship models for each brand and see how they compare. For Cadillac that would be the CT6 and for Genesis it’s the G90. These two cars give us all the luxury features we could ever want and come in at about the same price when comparably equipped, which only makes the ride, feel and look the deciding factors for these two cars. Let’s take a look at what we have to work with for these two gorgeous vehicles.
For the CT6 we have a chassis that gives a fantastic ride that feels sporty and smooth at the same time. At the base model this car is powered by a four-cylinder engine in RWD, but to compare with the Genesis the CT6 is upgraded to its 3.0-liter twin turbocharged C6 with the AWD system. This gives the Caddy 404 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Overall, this car is one of the most energetic and takes off with confidence in an athletic manner that shows it’s made to be one of the most impressive cars on the road.
For the Genesis G90 you have a base ride that’s packed with tons of standard features to enjoy. Not only will you have the driver’s information system you want to enjoy, but you have the base engine which is a twin turbocharged V6 that produces 365 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque. The G90 gives you a smooth ride that feels as though it glides over the pavement and the inside feels regal and refined like a large and impressive luxury car should feel. This is certainly an impressive car that is ready to drive in serious style.
When you break the two down, you have two completely different cars and one of them might not have hit the mark. If the target audience is full of those who want an exciting and engaged drive that can rip around corners with confidence, the Cadillac CT6 is the right choice. On the other hand, if the target customer is the person who wants a smooth and refined ride in and expertly crafted interior that’s built to impress, the Genesis G90 will make more sense. The question is what audience you belong to if you’re considering buying either one of these impressive cars.
