When we see a new vehicle and we get information about the vehicle, typically this information doesn’t come with the pricing that we’ll have to pay. Mostly this is because the bean counters are still trying to figure out what needs to be charged for the vehicle to be profitable and that can take some time. Recently we had a new car presented to us that will be on the market for 2017 as a new version of a car we love already. This means we’ll have a great new car to enjoy in a familiar model, but no pricing was revealed at the time.
This new car that we know is coming is the new Mazda MX-5 Miata RF. This car comes to you with an amazing six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission to allow you to have the drive you want to enjoy. The attraction to this car is the inclusion of a hard top that can be lifted and put away automatically to make it look like a roadster that’s of a much higher price range as it drives down the road. This new look and feel that offers a coupe style without the fabric hardtop gives us a car that’s more elegant than the base models.
This new Miata FR will start out in the Club model with the manual transmission for $32,390 to start and the automatic will add $730 to the price. The manual version is offered with a Brembo/BBS package that adds a front shock tower brace, side sill body extensions, forged lightweight BBS 17-inch wheels and Brembo front brakes with wider brake pads and red calipers. This package adds $3,400 to the price of the car, but as you can see this makes the Miata more of a track ready car for you to drive. The Grand Touring model begins at $33,455 and brings you heated leather seats, Adaptive front lights, high beam control and lane departure warnings.
The difference between the RF and the soft top models is a 4.6-inch full color TFT gauge cluster, the Machine Gray Metallic paint, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alerts. These additions to the Miata do explain the higher price as much as the more dramatic top does. There are other items you can enjoy on the RF including Advanced Keyless Entry for $130, premium paint options which give you Soul Red Metallic at $300, Machine Gray Metallic for $300 and Crystal Pearl Mica for $200 which is only offered on the Grand Touring models.
This new RF version of the MX-5 Miata will begin to arrive in the Mazda dealerships in the early part of 2017 so that you can purchase this great vehicle and enjoy the driving of this great sports Roadster. Now that you know the pricing for this new version of one of our favorites you can start to save up your money so that you can be one of the first to the dealership near you to purchase the Miata RF.
