The Geneva Motor Show seems to be the place for new information and great announcements as to what we can expect to come down the line. This isn’t limited to brand new models, although the Giulia certainly is one of those, but on a car we have been expecting for some time now learning what will and won’t make the trip over the pond we call the Atlantic Ocean is a question we want answered.
The eo, is one that we have already witnessed and know will be the top model that will ask for the highest price. What happens if you want to be able to drive an Alfa Romeo at a more affordable price? This car is supposed to be the one that will help Alfa Romeo begin to enjoy volume sales and if that’s the case there has to be a way it can be more affordable and easier to purchase. Thankfully, Alfa Romeo has thought of this as well and has come up with two other models to give us choices we can make when the car finally does make its way to the showrooms of the world.
There will be two different engines other than the one on the Quadrifoglio to choose from. The first will be a 2.2-liter diesel four-cylinder engine that will be tuned to either 150 or 180 horsepower and attach to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Another possibility is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that has 200 horsepower and will make use of the eight-speed automatic transmission. This second, gas-powered engine is the most likely to make the trip across the ocean and be the one we get to see as a possible version we can buy when the car finally does make the trip.
Along with the two engines there are now going to be three trim levels, the base, Super and of course the Quadrifoglio. The Super model will come with some high-quality leather and full grain leather on the seats. This car will feature real wood trim on the inside and have every luxury feature Alfa has to offer at an affordable price. The Super will even ride on 18-inch wheels to give a luxury ride feeling that you will enjoy and admire whenever you take your new Giulia out for a drive.
Of course if you want the top model, the Quadrifoglio will come at a much higher price than the base or the Super and it will be powered by a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 that can give you as much as 510 horsepower. The expected arrival time for this car continues to be pushed back but now that we have three trim levels it may finally be on an actual schedule for release. We can expect to see this car make its way to North America sometime in the latter part of 2017 for us to choose the Giulia that is right for our driving habits and the price we want to pay.
