The new series of Top Gear for the BBC television channel has been announced and we see that they have a whole new way to entertain us while discussing many different vehicles. Whether they are putting hot hatches to the test or taking a ride in one of the most impressive super sports cars the folks at Top Gear are fun to watch and give us some great insight into what might be a fantastic new ride to put in your garage to be the car you will drive and enjoy on or off the road.
Over the years the Top Gear team has hosted a wide range of different celebrities on the show. Some have brought their own hot car to let the team have a fun ride to give a try and see what the cars can do. One celebrity that has stood out among the bevy of them to come to the show has been Matt LeBlanc who starred in the TV series Friends as Joey during the entire run of the show. LeBlanc actually has given the show a big boost when he has been a guest, adding his own fun and knowledge of cars.
How has LeBlanc added to the show? First of all, he holds the record for the show for the fastest lap time in a reasonably priced car driven by a star which came in at 1:42. Matt also drove the Stig around in a McLaren MP4-12C and has been the host of a special series that was focused on the best races on the show during the seasons the show has been on the air. Going back through to find the right races offered a huge menu considering the show has been on for 21 seasons already.
With all the contributions Matt LeBlanc has offered the show it only makes perfect sense to have him be a cohost for the show for the next season. LeBlanc will stand up with Chris Evans and the Stig (which is the show’s professional driver and never has a say, but tears up a track along with the hosts). As an obvious car guy it seems the Top Gear team is excited about this new addition to their team to give them another perspective for the show in order to have a great team of guys who really know a lot about cars and can give you the look at performance and power in an entertaining way.
Whether you watch the show to learn about the cars that are being presented or you want another look at Matt LeBlanc, who has always been known as one of the most attractive men on television, you can’t help but enjoy what this trio brings to the show. Top Gear is certainly going to be better and will have more of us learning about cars that are sold in Europe as much as the ones that are sold in the US as this BBC series covers the automotive world completely.
