The Infiniti QX70 is an SUV that offers a look and feel you don’t get from the competitors. It’s not the most powerful in its class, it’s not the roomiest and it certainly is not the newest model. Instead of looking at what it is not, let’s see what it is. The QX70 is the luxury performance crossover from Infiniti that offers you a sleek, low and aggressive driving manner and a very powerful V6 engine that makes it easy to understand why it never got a V8. This SUV is all about the drive and making the best driving experience possible to compete against the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X6.
The QX70 is an SUV that still holds onto the size of a crossover without being part of the new niche; the compact crossover segment. With that said it is a great drive and sporty one, making that the top priority on its list instead of looking for a way to get off road more, the QX70 simply makes the on road experience even better, which is where any SUV spends upwards of ninety percent of its driving time anyway, especially the luxury models.
In order to be a great drive on the road the QX70 offers you some features you don’t see often. First the weight distribution is nearly even at 50/50 to make it one of the most balanced vehicles on the road today. This along with the independent sport suspension and electronic driver assist features make it easy to feel like the SUV is nearly driving itself. The large wheels help give the grip needed to ensure you can drive this vehicle through a curve at whatever speed you want without worrying about rollover or any kind of slide.
On the inside of the QX70 the cabin is gorgeous. This vehicle offers a curved dash and flowing lines that make the SUV look great from any seat. There is plenty of leg room inside to ensure all passengers are comfortable but the rear cargo room is a bit stingy leaving the use of the roof rack as more of a necessity than you might like. As a vehicle that you would probably get your errands done in and enjoy a great drive in the country this SUV is simply awesome and a lot of fun to drive and will have enough space for your daily needs.
Even though the shape of the QX70 has gotten more curves than before it still built with an aggressive look and an athletic stance. The narrow-slant eyed headlights are exceptional the lines are smooth and enjoyable. Overall this SUV is simply handsome and offers a look that is exceptional from every angle.
As an aging model and in this class, the QX70 comes with only one engine to power it. The 3.7-liter V6 brings in 325 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. This gives you the power you need without the gas guzzling of a V8. Attached to a seven-speed automatic transmission that offers a manual shift mode and Adaptive Shift Control the QX70 helps you have a great drive on any road. The fuel numbers show up at 17 city/24 hwy mpg for the RWD model and 16 city/22 hwy mpg for the AWD version.
There are only two trims offered the QX70 and QX70 AWD. The standard features include leather upholstery, heated front seats, HID headlights, a moonroof, a power tailgate, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, an eleven-speaker Bose sound system, an Intelligent Key keyless entry and starting, power folding side mirrors, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control and cruise control.
Packaging the extras gives you several to choose from. The Premium Package includes a hard drive navigations system, Around View monitor, Bluetooth streaming and a power adjustable steering wheel. The Deluxe Touring Package adds quilted leather seating, maple accents and 20-inch wheels. The Technology Package brings in the intelligent cruise control, lane departure warning and forward collision warning. The Sport Technology Package adds climate controlled sport bucket seats, a driver’s side power bolster support, 21-inch wheels, steering wheel paddle shifters, and dark finish trim pieces.
With all of this aboard it’s amazing you can have a QX70 that rivals the Porsche Cayenne for performance but with a price of just under $47,000 to start. The QX70 might be aging and soon will need to be remodeled, but for what this SUV is expected to be it does an amazing job of offering exactly what you want and need from this great SUV.
