2017 Nissan Altima: A Style Leader

11.03.16 - 2017 Nissan Altima

Nissan has found a way to make the Altima exciting once again, and it’s a good thing they did. If you look across the entry level sedan lineup and check out the direct competition from the Hyundai Sonata, Chrysler 200 and Ford Fusion you’ll see a segment of the market that’s filled with affordable and easy to enjoy vehicles that are gorgeous and ready to drive. The Altima gives you a fuel efficient model or one with more power to choose from and offers more interior space than some of the others on this market to give you vehicle that leads the way with precision, style and the drive you want.

What has the Altima always been? This has been a car that you could count on to be your commuter vehicle or your family sedan, but it wasn’t much to look at. The Altima has a reputation for holding good resale value and being a reliable car, but now for 2017 it’s much more than just numbers and a car you can trust, it looks and feels great on the road. For this model Nissan didn’t make any changes to the 2016 version which was a completely newly designed generation for them. This gives you the benefit of continuing to enjoy a car that offers you what you need.

Do you need a comfortable ride? The Altima makes a great choice for just that. You can still count on this car to give you the ride to and from your workplace that you want. The comfort and quiet you’ll find in this cabin will feel like the perfect getaway after a long day at the office, and if you happen to choose the SR trim, you can enjoy the sporty performance this model delivers and find the long way home at the end of the week, which could be the perfect way for you to go.

One of the most admirable features of the Altima is the fact that it’s offered in seven different trims. That means you should be able to find the car that’s right for you to drive. Starting at the base model you will have an automatic transmission, power door locks, power windows, air conditioning, push-button starting, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity and a four-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input, giving you a great basic car to drive. Moving up to the 2.5S model you will add a rearview camera, cruise control, hands-free text messaging, the NissanConnect suite of mobile apps, automatic headlights and a five-inch color monitor.

Moving up the trims you will be able to enjoy items such as a power driver’s seat, a leather interior, aluminum-alloy wheels, a power moonroof, LED headlights and much more. There are many of the different features you can add that are included on a variety of packages for you to add what you need. Some of the items in these packages include a navigation system, a seven-inch touchscreen monitor, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, dynamic cruise control, Predictive Forward Collision Warning and a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system.

Under the hood the Altima gives you two engines to choose from. Both of them us a CVT automatic transmission to give you the ride you want and deliver the fuel mileage you need. The base engine is the 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine which gives you 179 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is made to be more efficient by using active grill shutters, a revised compression ratio and less friction in the engine. This gives you the fuel mileage of 27 city/39 hwy mpg and 26 city/37 hwy mpg in the SR models.

If you choose the higher engine what you receive is a 3.5-liter V6 that pushes the power up to 270 horsepower and 251 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine offers you respectable fuel mileage at 22 city/32 hwy mpg while giving you the power you want to enjoy from this great car.

Check out the new Nissan Altima and see what a style difference this car has made. This car is one that you certainly will love to drive no matter what you have driven in the past. Your local Nissan dealer can help you find the trim level that’s right for you.
