The 2023 Jeep Easter Safari Will Be as Epic as Ever

The 2023 Jeep Easter Safari Will Be as Epic as Ever

Every year we see Jeep concepts line up in Moab, Utah, for the annual Jeep Easter Safari. These colorful, unique, and interesting Jeeps are wonderful.

In some areas of the country, spring is fighting through winter to finally arrive. Although we haven’t officially reached the start of the spring season, it’s nearly time for the annual pilgrimage to Moab for some serious off-road fun. This incredible off-road event is held by Red Rock 4-Wheelers, Inc. and has become the place where we can see what the next big Jeep thing will be.

What are the dates for the event?

This year, the Jeep Easter Safari takes place from Saturday, April 1, through Easter Sunday, April 9. The event is a several-day celebration of Jeeps, off-roading, and fellowship. The events mostly consist of trail rides, day-long trips, and stops at some of the most picturesque landscapes you’ll ever see. Red Rock 4-Wheelers, Inc. is lucky enough to be the annual host because they are the local four-wheel drive club in the Moab area.

Is Jeep bringing anything special to the event?

This annual event requires participants to provide their own vehicle, food, and beverages, but it’s a great place to see some new Jeep models on display. In recent years, the Jeep Wrangler Magneto made its way to this event to give us a taste of what an electric Wrangler could bring to the market. This year, we expect to see a truck-like Jeep that could be a lot different from the current Gladiator. This might be the next big off-road thing from Jeep, but it’s hard to say.

All we’ve seen thus far is a rendering of a truck that looks like a regular-cab, short-bed pickup truck with different proportions compared to the Jeep Gladiator. If you could imagine this truck next to the Gladiator, the short overhangs and raked B-pillars would stand out to you. This truck does resemble something we’ve seen before. Could it be similar to the customized body from the Wrangler Magneto? It’s hard to say for sure, but if this vehicle shows up in Moab during the first week of April, you can bet it will grab a ton of attention and give us a lot to talk about.

Is the new Jeep truck a throwback?

Many automakers turn to old names and throwback styles to pique our interest and imagination. Just imagine an old-style Jeep Scrambler with modern electronics and gear. You could even go a little further and imagine this Jeep truck as an EV; that would be something truly unique to discuss. Maybe this new Jeep truck would be the inspiration for a new conversion kit for the Gladiator; it’s hard to tell. A kit like the old Mopar JK-8, which converted the Wrangler Unlimited body into a truck with a two-door cabin and a short bed, could be perfect for this event.

Another Jeep concept will attend the event?

The Jeep Easter Safari won’t only feature one new model from the brand. Instead, we’re pretty sure a second model will make its way to the Moab course. This new model could be a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited showcasing some new Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) items. The look of this new model features blue-lined logos and a bump ahead of the windshield cowl, which are both dead giveaways that this will be a new 4xe model. Could this be a modified version of the Wrangler Rubicon Anniversary Edition? It’s certainly possible.

Will new Jeep EVs take on the Moab trails?

Jeep has recently added three electric vehicles to its lineup. The current commitment from this brand is to have at least one fully electric option for every SUV by 2025. The Jeep Avenger will be sold outside of North America, but a new Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S will head to U.S. dealerships as part of the 2024 model year. We don’t know whether or not the Recon or Wagoneer S will be part of the Jeep Easter Safari or not. It certainly would be good to see these new EVs perform on this daunting trail before they arrive in the market.

The Jeep Easter Safari is almost here, and we’ve got a lot to be excited about. What do you think will be your favorite part of this incredible off-road event put on by Red Rock 4-Wheelers?
