Picking out a good used SUV can be difficult, especially since so many are on the market. So, let’s take a look at three great used SUVs that deserve a look.
2019 Buick Enclave Premium ($23,545)
First on our list is the 2019 Buick Enclave. Introduced in 2008, the Enclave is Buick’s three-row family SUV. It shared its platform with the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook, and Chevrolet Traverse. The Saturn Outlook has since been discontinued following GM’s decision to cancel the Saturn brand in 2010. Currently in its second generation, the Buick Enclave is the upscale choice between the current Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia.
If we take a look at current pricing courtesy of Kelley Blue Book, an average 2019 Buick Enclave Premium costs right around $23,545 with standard options selected and 60,000 miles.
Extras like a 10-speaker Bose sound system, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel are included in the 2019 Buick Enclave Premium package, among other luxuries. Considering a current Buick Enclave Premium can cost upwards of $52,000, buying this used Buick certainly makes sense for any budget.
2018 Honda Pilot EX ($21,204)
Another SUV worth mentioning in our list is the 2018 Honda Pilot. The Pilot was introduced as a 2003 model and was one of the first midsize SUVs to offer three-row seating. It’s enjoyed modest popularity for the past 21 years due to its third-row practicality and Honda’s peerless reputation for reliability. The Pilot is currently in its fourth generation, but the 2018 Pilot in question is from the previous third generation.
We used a 2018 Honda Pilot with the EX trim option as our example. Again referencing Kelley Blue Book, our research found that you can get a good example with less than 70,000 miles for $21,204. While the EX trim is in the middle of the range, it offers lots of standard features. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, and remote engine start are standard equipment.
A brand-new 2024 Pilot can set you back almost $44,000, so spending half the money on a 2018 Pilot can work wonders around a tight budget.
2021 Kia Telluride LX ($23,791)
It may surprise you, but you can get a three-year-old Kia Telluride LX for under $25,000. The three-row Telluride has only been around for four years, but it’s made a big splash in the SUV market with its futuristic, good looks, and great practicality. Kia also offers one of the best warranties on the market today.
While the Kia Telluride LX is the base model, you’re still treated to safety features such as a pre-collision safety system, dual front and dual rear-side mounted airbags, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen sporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A brand-new Telluride LX costs about $37,000, so by buying a 2021, you can save almost $14,000.
