ChatGPT Isn’t About to Replace SEO

ChatGPT Isn’t About to Replace SEO

From the beginning of search engines, the goal was to gather information. ChatGPT is the latest AI tool for SEO experts, but it won’t replace them.

Search engines aid users in finding answers to questions. Chatbots help to offer the next most logical words in a sentence. Bill Gates understood the purpose of search engines as far back as 20 years ago when he realized the future is verbs. This doesn’t mean chatbots and AI tools won’t eventually be capable of aiding in producing top-quality SEO, but even the tool in question doesn’t think it will replace SEO going forward.

Should SEO experts put this AI tech to work?

No matter what industry you’re in, it’s always smart to have the latest and most advanced tools at your disposal. AI tools can’t replace SEO, but they can help make SEO content better and more useful. Of course, because these tools use word vectors to determine the most logical words to use next, they can be extremely good but also offer answers that make it seem like the tool is in a completely different headspace than the SEO expert. It’s important that people continue to check, develop, and optimize online content.

Some think AI will kill SEO; is that true?

Every few years, we see a new tool created to help digital markets and SEO experts. Too often, these tools are advertised as being useful enough to replace the people doing the job. In some cases, these tools are expected to replace search engines, but in other instances, they are made to improve SEO and offer faster and more consistent application of SEO practices.

Strangely, when the ChatGPT tool was asked whether or not AI would kill SEO, the answer was a resounding “no.” The answer from this tool is that AI will change the way SEO works and help search engines better understand the content and context of web pages. It’s become more important than ever that SEO experts evolve and focus on quality content, user experience, and technical optimization rather than trying to trick the Google algorithm.

The change in SEO to become digital marketing began long ago and continues today. Today, it’s more important than ever to have authority in the space, consider the user, offer long-form and short-form content, and understand the market conditions of the content created.

Will AI put SEO experts out of a job?

Another question asked of ChatGPT is whether or not AI will put SEO out of a job.

The answer to this question was once again negative. AI can automaker some aspects of SEO, including keyword research and data analysis, but it won’t replace the creativity and strategic thinking of people. The SEO experts continue to be necessary to implement strategies, optimize content, and analyze data to improve performance.

It seems pretty easy to see that ChatGPT understands its place in the world as a tool that can be used to improve SEO and help develop better content.

Why can’t AI put SEO in the grave?

We’ve seen new technology come along every few years, and when it happens, the same three things tend to happen. Ryan Jones of Search Engine Journal tells us the three things that take place with new, exciting technology are:

AI can’t understand how we search, what devices will be used, and whether the answer is in a link to a website, but it can still be useful for many things. ChatGPT is the latest AI tech, and even this tool doesn’t put itself ahead of SEO experts and people in the field of digital marketing.

Forget the movies; AI isn’t that advanced yet

Most of us have seen movies involving cyborgs and machines that can learn, evolve, and even feel. The third item makes us sentient beings and much different from machines. In fact, even those machines that are said to use machine learning to evolve processes can only do so within the parameters of the programming. This is and will always be the limitation of AI tools, including ChatGPT.

This new AI tool should help evolve SEO to be more useful during searches without replacing SEO experts.
