A Serious Continuation of a Great Vehicle

01.09.17 - Aston Martin DB4 GT

There are very few times in the history of the automotive industry that a car has been continued after it was done with its production run that happened to be completed a long time ago. This is especially true when a car has been out of production for as much or more than a half-century which is the case for the car we’re talking about right now. The car in question is one of the most impressive Aston Martin models that was built 56 years ago, the DB4 GT model which went out of production many years ago.

This car will actually be built once again in a limited run of 25 more versions and be the car that will be admired by those wealthy enough to afford and enjoy this car. This new run will be a perfect continuation of the original eight examples of this car and the chassis VIN numbers will continue where they left off to keep them in perfect order. This will make for one of the most impressive ways an automaker has ever continued a model on the market for us to admire, but there are a few catches to being able to afford this car.

First of all, the models that are going to be built will not be street legal. In order to enjoy these cars that aren’t street legal, Aston Martin is creating a two-year international track program that gives owners the drive they want on the track in the cars they have bought. This program will make it possible for owners to take their new DB4 models to the track and have a lot of fun. For this driving experience there will be Aston Martin driver team members on hand to help these owners learn how to drive these cars the right way.

All 25 of the new models have already been spoken for, each of which went for $1.9 million and the classic versions are worth much more than that. These cars will be shorter, lighter and more powerful than the original models. Under the hood will be a 3.7-liter straight six-liter engine that brings in 340 horsepower that’s pushed to the rear wheels . There will be a four-speed manual transmission to make the gear shifts and a limited slip differential just like there was in the original car that was built so many years ago.

While all of these cars have already been sold, the Works department of Aston Martin will use old world craftsmanship with modern technology to build cars that are great to drive. These cars will have the performance we want and added braking, handling and safety to have the ride that makes a huge difference. This car is a great two-seater that offers you a tubular frame and aluminum panels to keep the weight down. The first new owner of this old classic will receive their DB4 GT in the third quarter of 2017 to be able to begin enjoying the drive.

This is a great way for Aston Martin to celebrate one of the most coveted cars that’s ever been made and as a continuation of what this car has been it will be a great car again.
