10.19.16 - Aston Martin DB11

When you think of British luxury models what names come to mind? If Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce aren’t on the list you need to go back and think about the automakers from Britain that make a greater impact than these two. One is the brand chosen by the most famous spy in the movie industry in James Bond and the other has been the top name in ultra-luxury vehicles for over 100 years. If you want to consider these two brands and make a choice that choice would most likely be between the Wraith from Rolls-Royce and the DB11 from Aston Martin.

The Aston Martin DB11 comes to you with a 2+2 GT setup for the seating of four to enjoy the ride. This car offers you a massive and powerful 5.2-liter twin turbocharged V12 engine that makes a full 600 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a smooth shifting eight-speed automatic transmission to be able to reach sixty mph in less than 3.9 seconds and come in with a top speed that can reach as much as 200 mph to give you a speedy and impressive ride on the track or on the road.

Aston Martin has used an aluminum intense architecture to create a lighter weight car and one that can make use of more of the power from under the hood that it otherwise would. The DB11 offer you the looks and lines you want to see making it a sensual car that feels like it can turn you on every time you step inside. Speaking of the inside, the seats are perfect and all controls are designed to match the look and feel of this car to give you a car that’s certainly one you’ll love to drive.

Moving to the Wraith from Rolls-Royce, you almost forget about the DB11 because it’s a Rolls-Royce. The Wrath offers you a 6.6-liter twin turbocharged V12 engine under the hood and the build of the Ghost in a smaller form. The power from under the hood comes out to 624 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque to give you the power you want. This is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and this car is able to reach sixty mph in less than 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. One glaring difference is the massive weight of the Wraith which comes in at 5,380 pounds.

The speed and weight advantage go to the DB11 easily as does the pricing advantage s it’s nearly $100,000 cheaper than the Wraith. Still you can’t argue with the opulence and perfection that come with owning a Rolls-Royce and if these two really are in contention as cars to carry you on the road, having a Rolls comes with a certain amount of prestige and presence. Which of these two cars is the right one for you? That’s a decision many of us would love to have to contend with and both are amazing to drive and enjoy.
