What Wings Will Do Now

01.01.16 - 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce - 2

Cars with wings give us a look and feel of vehicles that are meant for more power, higher speeds and a greater ability to take on the road or track that has been put in front of the car.  On some cars the wing added is put there simply for cosmetic reasons but on many high level sports cars these rear wings are meant to help promote and improve downforce on the rear end which allows the car to handle curves better and be able to stay planter to the ground.  This improves the overall aerodynamics and control of the vehicle.  Here are ten cars that have some of the largest and craziest wings to let you know what they are up to.

01.01.16 - 2015 Bentley Continental GT3 R

Bentley Continental GT3-RThis car is one that is a beautifully crafted sports car which shows up as a car that would be great on any road or track.  Under this name you normally look for a well-mannered sedan, but the GT3-R is anything  but one that behaves.  This car looks like a Mitsubishi Evo with more muscle and a huge wing on the back to give it the downforce and performance you need to enjoy.

01.01.16 - 2016 Dodge Viper ACR

Dodge Viper ACREven though the Viper will be around no more very soon it doesn’t mean we can’t admire what we have right now.  This car has been a racers dream that can also be driven on the road.  Setting records at thirteen tracks and offering some of the most impressive power, performance and aerodynamics this car has a massive wing on the back to show off exactly what it is.  Even if you tried to tame this car down you couldn’t especially if you drive around town with that giant fin on the back that looks like you are about to take off and fly.

01.01.16 - 2017 Ford GT

Ford GTAlthough this car has not made it to the market just yet, it’s on its way to us and will be one of the most advanced cars we see in the next few years.  The wing of this car is actually retractable for the street car making it one of the most attractive and smooth looks on the road.  For the racing version there is no reason to hide the wing and it’s a monstrous fixed version that gives the car the added rear end push downward that is needed to let it carve up the curves in grand fashion.

01.01.16 - 2015 Koenigsegg One-1

Koenigsegg One:1The name is a bit of an interesting part of this car.  The name means it has one horsepower for every kilogram of weight.  This means this beauty weighs in at 1360 Kg and has 1360 horsepower which makes it insanely fast.  This car has two large wings on the back.  Both of these are movable and mounted to make it easier for you to drive and enjoy the exceptional performance of this car that is highly exclusive to the market for those who want to drive one of the fastest cars ever built.

01.01.16 - 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce

Lamborghini Aventador SuperveloceLamborghini is already a name that carried a lot of clout and the Aventador sounds just like a Spanish matador.  Adding the Superveloce moniker to the name brings in a super sports car that is great for racing.  To keep this massive high powered beauty under some form of control the car has a monstrous carbon fiber win on the back that pushes down on the rear and lets you enjoy the drive.  You want to race this car, it’s not made for anything but track action and it certainly lets you have the ride of your life in a car that offers a bull as its logo.

01.01.16 - 2016 McLaren P1

McLaren P1Although this car is no longer in production for those who ordered them, the 903 horsepower and 664 lb.-ft. of torque needed to be harnessed in some way and a large rear wing is one way to do it.  This car can reach 200 mph in only twenty seconds to give you one of the most exciting rides you have ever had.  Of course you would have to pony up about $1.5 million or have a friend who did in order to enjoy a ride in this absolute beauty.

01.01.16 - 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

Mitsubishi Lancer EvolutionMaybe its overkill to put a large wing on the Lancer but this car had one.  The Evo is no longer made and the Evo X was an awesome car and both offered a large wing that let the car show off with more sport than anything else.  This wing did not really help this car perform at all, but it sure looked cool and let you enjoy the ability to toss this car in and out of the corners you can find anywhere and enjoy the ride.

01.01.16 - 2016 Nissan GT-R NISMO

Nissan GT- R NismoThere isn’t one thing about this car that was made just for looks.  Every curve, every fold and every port was put in place for a specific purpose on this car that is one of the most powerful on the market from a smaller engine.  This Nismo version even features a massive wing on the back to help provide more speed and confidence knowing the rear isn’t going to come out of control and end up being a problem for you when driving.  Take this beauty to the track and let your driving go wild with this car that is completely in control.

Porsche 911 GT3 RSThe Porsche 911 has been to more tracks around the world than any other car.  This can be because the car has been around longer than nearly every other car as well.  It seems if you add more letters to the name you gain more power and get an overall sportier trim.  With this car you can enjoy the awesome power and track performance you want and are graced with a huge wing that sits several inches above the built in wing that is already in place giving you a car that is the perfect sports car and one that will easily win you many races in your area.

01.01.16 - 2016 Subaru WRX STI

Subaru WRX STIThis wing seems like it might be silly on such a small sports car but it’s one that offers the function of aiding the car when in the Rally Car races.  The problem is that most of us will buy this car and expect to enjoy a daily driver, but it’s supposed to be a sports car not a daily driver.  Even if you aren’t taking this car to the track you can enjoy the fact that you have a car that is this attractive to let you enjoy the ride.
