A 1966 Chevy Chevelle to Rule them All

1966 Chevelle Recoil

Because the Chevrolet Chevelle is not made any more, having one creates a feeling of nostalgia in some and showing one off at a show that is all about specialty car equipment and parts makes for a highly interesting venture. The Ringbrothers chose to bring out a high powered model that was built to churn up the feelings and emotions that come with the Chevelle name, as so many of the car lovers who are getting along in years remember their own Chevelle they may have driven back in the heyday of muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s.

The Chevelle brought to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) by the Ringbrothers was one of the most enticing way a Chevy Chevelle can be set up and I’m certain Chevelle lovers would have giving up multiple children and life savings in order to take this beauty home with them. The Chevelle that gained so much attention came in the form of a 1966 model and carried in 986 horsepower of amazing muscle. This Chevrolet Chevelle “Recoil” may very well be the most powerful Chevelle ever built and gives us something really cool to talk about.

This Chevelle shows up with a Whipple-supercharged Wegner Motorsports engine that comes up just short of the 1000 horsepower mark. The entire inner workings of the car are custom made, making is really special when it does come off the showroom floor and gets to take its wares on the track. Adding to the Whipple parts, the car offers a Royal Purple XPR Extreme Performance Racing oil use, helping keep this car moving at high speeds. The fuel cell is an Aeromotive model and the injection system was built by Holley, making this a Chevelle that has the best of many high performance equipment manufacturers.

Other cool features include the nine inch rear end that is powered by a Dynotech driveshaft and the blower that is reworked by Tremec. The “Recoil” name comes from the wheels that are three piece forged HRE wheels which are 19 inches in size and had some awesome Michelin tires wrapped around them to give the best grip and performance possible. Plenty of carbon fiber can be found as well to help reduce the weight of this car. These parts include the bumpers, trunklid, dashboard, headliner and hood.

Even though the priority was to have a Chevelle that would reach nearly 1000 horsepower, the inside and outside of the car were both done to perfection, giving us a car that would truly allow us to feel great about good old American muscle.

If you appreciate some awesome muscle in a car that is a true throwback, you will absolutely love seeing this car as it runs around a track or takes to the road. Unfortunately that is probably the only place you will see it unless you are willing to pay Ringbrothers to build one of these beauties for you, which will certainly cost you as much as a high end super car of today.
